Monday Morning Nature Walk

The June Gloom cleared early this morning, so I was up bright and early and felt like going on a nature walk with my camera.  The morning light was so nice with a few puffy clouds, which seemed to give all the animals an energy boost (as well as myself).  The squirrels were chasing each… Continue reading Monday Morning Nature Walk

Canadian Goslings & Other Things

These photos and videos were taken earlier today at El Dorado Park. ❤ Canadian Geese come to Southern Ca. every year for their winter/spring destination and obviously breeding grounds away from the harsh cold of Canada. These  precious Goslings were very well protected by Mom & Dad.  They are so adorable how they clumsily follow… Continue reading Canadian Goslings & Other Things

Spring Visitor

Yesterday I made a post on Instagram of our blooming Milkweed and said "Bring on the butterflies"...well I guess they heard me!! Just a little while ago I was visited by a beautiful Monarch Butterfly and was lucky to grab a few shots. I LOVE spring! My water lily is about to bloom too as… Continue reading Spring Visitor

Saturday at the Park

I tagged along with my husband and son on their fishing trip to El Dorado Park this evening and brought my camera with me. Not a whole lot was going on, but I did take some time photographing the resident Geese.  They can be pretty mean, but today they were in a good mood, one… Continue reading Saturday at the Park

A Gorgeous Day at Mission San Juan Capistrano

It's been a couple years since I've walked the grounds of the Jewel of the California Mission's, Mission San Juan Capistrano. They don't call it the "Jewel" for nothing, it is a very beautiful Mission indeed (my favorite).  The flowers were not in full bloom, but they are definitely blooming and so beautiful. I plan… Continue reading A Gorgeous Day at Mission San Juan Capistrano

An Evening at El Dorado

I wandered around El Dorado Park this evening with my camera while my husband did a little Bass Fishing.  The lighting was magical and there was an abundance of Red Winged Blackbirds, Grackles and Geese.  I was so excited to pull up my photos and find I actually captured a Red Winged Blackbird in flight!… Continue reading An Evening at El Dorado

This and That…and a Frisky Cat (or 3)!

Just a few photos I wanted to share. First, our Water Hyacinths bloomed  yesterday (well one of them).  I'm glad I got the camera  out, because the blooms fade within 24 hours!  They sure are pretty. The second photo is of one of the photo disc sleeves I offer when ordering a photo disc. They… Continue reading This and That…and a Frisky Cat (or 3)!

New Camera New Material

I recently added a new camera to my arsenal.  I took it out for a "Test Drive" today. I'm still figuring out all the new features compared to my old but trusty Canon 5D. I'm amazed at the quality of images, just in the few I took today.  Here are some of my favorites.  🙂

Outing at El Dorado Park

This morning I took a break from furniture refinishing/painting and went over to El Dorado Park with my husband. I figured I could bring my camera gear and do a little bird photography (one of my favorite things to shoot...with a camera that is) 🙂 while the Mr. did a little fishing.  El Dorado Park… Continue reading Outing at El Dorado Park

Pond Life

Having a water garden is so much fun. It's fun to create an ecosystem with aquatic plants, fish and to watch all the visitors to the pond throughout the year. During the winter it quiets down with the lilies going dormant, the fish aren't as active and we get Yellow Rumped Warblers stopping in for… Continue reading Pond Life
